Destiny Rambo Khouri
Destiny Rambo Khouri is a rare combination of talent, and anointing with a dash of unpredictable, improvisational genius. In other words… she often leaps from the boat of tradition and dances on the water!
Early Life and Musical Beginnings
Destiny Rambo Khouri has has an exceptionally rich heritage of music and ministry. Her grandparents, Buck and Dottie Rambo, are pioneers in the Southern Gospel world of performers and writers. Her parents, Dony McGuire and Reba Rambo were trendsetters in Contemporary Christian music. All of them receiving multiple Grammy and Dove Awards.
Destiny is certainly no stranger to the stage and platform. She began traveling with her parents as an infant and, even as a toddler, was quick to win the hearts of people with her infectious charm and talent. She hasn’t stopped singing since.
Education and Training
Destiny has studied intensively music, piano, voice, art, dance, acting and writing. Along with years of private tutoring, she studied dance at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN, went through extensive vocal and piano training by Jan Williams, Sondra Morton-Chaffin and Jamie Green at the Jan Williams School of Music, and has a Bachelors in Counseling from Destiny Christian College.
A History Of Ministry
In addition to traveling the world singing with her parents, and ministry engagements of her own, Destiny has been privileged to join with other ministries throughout her life. She spent many years traveling with David and Nicole Binion and considers Nicole her mentor as a vocalist and worshiper. She also was a member of Chosen and choreographer at The Ramp with Karen Wheaton through most of her teenage years. She has ministered with Jason Upton, Don Potter, Suzy Yaraei, Kelanie Gloeckler Webb, Eddie James, Rick Pino and many others!
She has sung in over a dozen nations and on every continent except Antarctica. (Which would be her dream come true!) For someone as young as she is, she has lived a long and fulfilled life in music and ministry, but is really just getting started!
Achievements and legacy
In addition to her life touring in gospel music, Destiny spent years as a session vocalist in Nashville, TN. She was privileged to sing background vocals on several Grammy and Dove award winning and nominated albums. With her chameleon like voice, she was able to cross over between almost every genre of music, bringing her gifts to serve the projects as excellently as possible. She continues to record vocal sessions and does voiceover acting remotely for projects all over the world.
Her career also extends into the realm of theater. She has performed in dozens of productions including: The Child, Godspell, David, and Fear Not Tomorrow, based on the book by Ruth Graham. She was privileged to sing on several cast albums including: The Original Cast Album- David, the licensing albums of Tarzan, as the voice of Jane, and Mary Poppins, as a featured member of the ensemble for Disney Theatrical. She also performed the voice of Channah, in Sight & Sound Theater's show, Jonah. She has performed in multiple languages, including Mandarin for a special project for Sea World Beijing.
In 2012 Destiny, along with her families group, Rambo McGuire were privileged to win the Dove Award for bluegrass album of the year. In December 2013 she released her highly anticipated first solo album, Journal of a Songstress. In 2018 Destiny married Joel Khouri. A producer, composer and writer with hundreds of recording credits to his name. Together they create music and art in exciting and out of the box ways. In 2020 she released a Christmas EP titled Oh Night Divine that charted in the top 10 on iTunes and Amazon music. Her singles titled, “Calvary Will Never Run Out Of Songs” and “The Altar” have been the largest scale production she and Joel have taken on to date.
Future Endeavors
Today, Destiny is an in-demand singer, worship leader, writer, artist, session vocalist, actress, teacher and choreographer.
She teaches creative writing and songwriting regularly at Morningstar University in Fort Mill, SC.
She is the writer and host of the weekly podcast and video series Divine Musing With Destiny Rambo Khouri.
She is currently working on new books, songs, and a teaching series on creative writing.
She and Joel are the founders of The Rambo Family Gospel Hour. A quarterly music and ministry event that is live-streamed around the world.
She and Joel are currently based in Charlotte, North Carolina.
